ICT and Network Planning

Connect cameras to network infrastructure

Plan switches, cabling, and camera assignments as part of the design.

Benefit

Keep the physical layout and network infrastructure consistent in one deliverable.

How it works

Add network equipment such as switches and racks, assign cameras to switch ports, and record cable types and approximate lengths. The network plan appears in the final report.

Typical user

System integrators and ICT coordinators designing the infrastructure layer.

Example use case

Each floor camera is assigned to a local PoE switch; cable lengths are estimated and summarized for procurement review.

Key inputs

  • Camera positions
  • Switch and rack locations
  • Cable categories and lengths

Key outputs

  • Camera-switch assignments
  • Connection schedule
  • Network section in report

Technical note

Cable lengths are estimates based on the design geometry. Actual installation routing, conduit paths, and local codes must be verified on site.
